Be careful if you're in Virginia. Speed limits on all unpaved roads have been lowered to 35 from 55. Interview with a local sheriff had him saying he'll be conducting an enforcement drive so expect deputies in places where they rarely roam.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. Dirt roads here in Wisconsin have a speed limit are 40-45 but they're really more like "40" or "45"... eh just be careful around kids and farm equipment, and dont be a ass.

I've never seen any kind of law enforcement official on a gravel road out here in the flyover states.

In the winter, when conditions are just right, I can go as fast as 70 mph down gravel roads on the way to work. It's so much fun.

Yeah, the last time I drove regularly on unpaved roads was in Texas more than a decade ago. I think the limit was technically 40, but in practice it was 'if you wreck you're on your own...you go get the wrecker'.

I doubt the enforcement drive will last long.

yeah on dirt roads wear there isn't a ton of houses it should be fair game. Especially in a state like Virginia where Imagine there are some pretty great roads.

Well, driving on these roads that was perfectly safe and legal for decades became illegal on Tuesday. The limits are not posted and this is a blanket change covering every unpaved road regardless of condition, grade, sightlines, etc. They're going to have a concerted effort to enforce the new limits (on roads that typically never see any LEOs) and people should know about that.
